Upcoming Volume to Remember and Honor Victims of Flight 5342.
On January 29, 2025, figure skating suffered another devastating loss. A Black Hawk Army helicopter collided in mid-air with American Airlines Flight 5342 near Washington, DC. A total of 67 people were killed, including 28 members of the figure skating community.
This tragic loss included several skaters, parents, and coaches returning from the National Development Camp that followed the 2025 National Championships. Some of those lost had been contributors to our cookbooks.
In response to this heartbreaking tragedy, Volume 3 of Figure Skaters' Favorites is now being created to honor and remember those we have lost.
ALL proceeds from Volume 3 will be donated to the US Figure Skating Family Support Fund, created in memory of those we lost in this tragic event.
ALL members of the skating community are invited to participate by contributing recipes.
